Feliz ano 2012!

Empiezo el ano retomando el blog, con una entrada de un sencillo DIY.

Compre estas orejeras de punto hace un par de meses, estaba encantada con ellas hasta que me las traje a Londres y me di cuanta de que con el minimo viento se te hielan las orejas! Al ser de punto el aire se cuela a traves. Algo hacen, pero muy eficaces no es que sean... El caso es que para "aislarlas" (mis orejas) las forre por dentro con piel. Y ahora estoy encantada con ellas! :)

I got back in the blog this year, with an easy DIY post.

I bought this earflaps a couple of months ago, I was really delighted with them until I realized that when is windy my ears get completely frozen! As they are knitted the cold air goes through them. They didn't really fulfil their function... The thing is I lined them with fur to isolate them (my ears). And I'm really glad that I did it! :)

Estas son las orejeras de Bimba y Lola antes del apano. These are the Bimba y Lola earflaps before I patched them up.

1. Comprar la piel. 1. Buying the fur.

2. Cortar dos piezas del tamano del interior de las orejeras. Para ello lo mejor es darles la vuelta y hacer una prueba  con papel para asegurarse de que se ajusta perfectamente. 2. Cutting two pieces with the same size than the interior of the earflaps. To do it the best thing is reverse them and test it with a piece of paper to be sure it fits perfectly.

3. Por la forma de las orejeras habria sido suficiente poner los trozos de piel dentro (no se hubieran salido), pero las cosi a mano, por si acaso. 3. Because of the earflap shape it would have been enought to put the fur pieces inside (they will not come off them), but I sewed them by hand, to be on the safe side.

Listo! Done! :)

Estas fotos las saqué hace unos días en Madrid. Fuí para participar en la final del concurso de

diseño de trajes de baño que organiza Venus Gillette. En breves subiré fotos de mi propuesta. :)

I took these pictures a few days ago in Madrid. I went there to participate in the Venus Gillette

design contest final. I will post pictures of my swwiming costume soon. :)

Hace un par de entradas dije que no había sacado ninguna foto cuando estuve en Londres, en Mayo.

Fuí pocos días y aunque callejeé un montón no podía ir parando, como sí hice en Portugal, para fotografiar

todo lo que me iba llamando la atención, además la pequeña cámara que llevaba tampoco era la más

apropiada para ello... El caso es que hoy vaciando la tarjeta de memoria he encrontrado dos que había

olvidado que tenía. Two posts ago, I said I hadn´t taken any picture when I was in London, in May. I went

just a few days and although I hang a lot around the streets I couldn´t stop, as I was able in Portugal, to 

photograph everything that was catching my eye, and also because I was carrying just the compact camera...

No recuerdo donde saqué la primera, la segunda es un mini rojo que estaba aparcado cerca de Portobello, las

hawaianas me parecen totales... :) la luz que había en ese momento me impidió sacar una foto con menos

reflejos... I don´t remember where I took the first picture, the second one is a red mini which was parked close

to Portobello, I love the hawaiian touch... :) I couldn´t catch a better pic because of the light at that time...

Sé que últimamente no he actualizado muy a menudo, lo siento, estos días tengo que exprimir al

máximo el tiempo... :s Lo compensaré en cuanto pueda... I know I have not posted often lately, sorry,

but I have been on something important which has taken all my free time... :s I will make it up asap...

He estado unos días en Londres. Intenté hacer una entrada justo antes de irme pero me daba

error cuando pretendía entrar en mi cuenta. Esta vez no he sacado ninguna foto, así que subo algunas

que no había subido de Portugal. I have been a few days in London. I tryed to make a post just before

travelling there but had (again) problems with it, on this case it was not possible for me to log in.

This time I did not take any picture, I did not carry the camera with me to be lighter... so I´m

posting some more pictures of the last time I was in Portugal.

En ésta última foto llevo vestido de see by chloé, zapatos de bimba y lola y cestita artesanal portuguesa.

On this last picture I´m wearing see by chloé dress, bimba y lola shoes and portuguese handmade little basket.

Chaqueta militar, la compré hace varios años en una tienda que había en

Camden Town que vendía únicamente ropa militar. Militar jacket, I bought

it several years ago in a Camben Town shop there used to be which just

sold militar apparel.

Me encanta el color y el lavado que tiene. I love the colour and the wash it has.

Casi no se aprecia en la foto, pero llevo un collar antiguo con piedras de cristal

que era bastante corto por lo que lo alargué añadiendo una pulsera de cadena

sencilla en la nuca. It almost can´t be seen on this picture, but I´m wearing an

antique glass necklace that was too short so I decided to add a plain chain in the

middle of the fastener, at the back of the neck.

Éste vestido es una camisa de preso francés (o eso me dijo el vendedor), en

talla gigante, triple xl. This dress is a french prisoner shirt (that´s what the

stallholder said), on  huge size, triple xl.

El bolso es de numero10, una casa italiana de bolsos hechos a mano. Las

auténticas asas son las cortas trenzadas en forma de espiral que están

colgando, las cintas trenzadas que estoy utilizando en realidad quedaban

ocultas en el interior, pero las até de forma que pudiera utilizarlas también

para eso. The bag is numero10, an italian handmade bags brand. The

authentic handles are the spiral braided short ones which are hanging, the

plaited thin ribbons that are on my shoulder are supposed to be hidden

inside, but I tied them to use them also as handle.

Zapatos de piel color nude, vintage. Preferí quitarles los cordones.

Continúa el sol! Still sunny!

Éste vestido de see by chloé es de hace un par de veranos o incluso tres.

Era bastante más largo y tenía mangas, pero con mi (escasa)estatura

decidí "transformarlo" quitándole las mangas y acortándolo. De hecho,

quizás lo prefería ligeramente más largo, pero como lleva entredoses de

encaje, las opciones de largo iban de ocho en ocho centímetros... 

I got this see by chloé dress two or even three summers ago. It

used to be longer and it had sleeves, but because of my (limited)height

I decided to "transform" it removing the sleeves and making it shorter. In

fact, I maybe would prefer it slightly longer, but because of the delicate lace

inserts it has, the length options were eight by eight centimiters...

Las mangas que tenía eran un poco ñoñas, por lo que decidí prescindir de ellas...

The sleeves it had were a little bit drippy so I decided to disregard them...

Las botas son de hazel y las gafas de sol de super retro future.

The boots are from hazel and the sunnies are super retro future.
